Our History
A tradition of excellence and innovation
We are a family business, and have been for fifty years. David Batchen founded the business in 1965 to provide maintenance services to the chemical and LPG industries in Australia, with his sole employee a tradesman by the name of Doug Burton. Doug would go on to work for David for over twenty years, beginning one of many important Batchen traditions: the loyalty, experience and longevity of our staff.
Since 1991, the business has been managed by James, David's son. As of 2016, two of James' sons were on staff, marking three generations of Batchen engineers. We have expanded into six separate disciplines, as seen below, selling our experience and expertise to Australia and the world.
