The speed of application will vary due to the terrain, the density of the weed matter and the amount of ground moisture like dew on the surface of the weeds. Hence a number of different speeds are listed. The effective speed attained for the trial in Broke was 3 km\hr.
The cost for the LPG ae based on typical costs in regional NSW (hunter Valley) sourced from Autogas stations or from on site storage. The costs are based on 10,000 linear meters travelled by the Stinger Thermal weeder.
Calculations based on Propane at 700kPa, which will vary slightly with composition of fuel and atmospheric conditions and 2.5m row width vineyard. 10,000 linear metres would equate to 1.2 hectares, based on 2 journeys per row.
